When you are about to embark on a road trip, you have to do a lot of preparation.  Plan out your trip, wash and pack all your clothes, and pack up the car, but don’t forget to fill up your cooler! There is nothing more crucial than yummy snacks and something cold to drink on your adventure.  So what are you going to pack in your cooler?  Here are a few ideas to help you get ready for your upcoming expedition.

First you need a few different options of what to drink.  Orange juice is a great way to start your day.  It is full of calcium, essential vitamins, and potassium, plus it’s cold and refreshing.  After you have been in your car for a few hours, you may need a little bit of a pick-me-up.  A cold, caffeinated beverage or energy drink will give you just the right amount of energy you need to keep going.  If you aren’t in the mood for something carbonated, lemonade or a fruity drink is a great option.  Don’t forget to fill your cooler with ice before you go so your drinks can stayed chilled to perfection.

Candy and snacks are the next item on your list to buy to fill up your cooler.  There is nothing worse than melted chocolate or hot gooey snacks, so placing these items in your ice-filled cooler with keep them fresh and as good as new.  There are so many options to choose from, including Skittles, Reese’s Pieces, licorice, Hershey bars, Corn Nuts, beef jerky, M&Ms and fruity rings.

Lastly, grab yourself a few bags of chips and pretzels.  With all your sweet treats, you will probably want something a little salty to go with it.  Pack all these items into your cooler, and you are ready to set out on your amazing adventure!
